Family Fun

So Saturday after Theo go off of work he decided to cool off and relax in the pool with Matt. I did mention my pool was small right? Anyways him and Matt played in the pool for a little while before coming inside. Matt loves to act like a big boy and go under water like his daddy.

Saturday evening we invited Benny over with his two boys and my other neice and nephew to come over and hang out for a little while. They kids loved playing on the swing set and in the pool. I think we really need a swing set with about 6 swings so that everyone can swing and they won't all be fighting over the same swing. They had a good time anyways and were pretty good about sharing.

Swimming at Mama's

So last Thursday we went over to Linda's house for dinner. Matt really loves his grandparents and everyday he asked to go see his papa so we usually try to go over at least once a week. Anyways that boys and matt decided after dinner that they wanted to go for a quick swim so we aired up the little pool and let them have at it. They had so much fun just running and jumping into pool.

WaterBug

I know you are all thinking waterbugs ewww gross but I am actually referring to Matt. Ever since he was little he has loved the water. He will just play and splash and run and jump. ON saturday we went over to our friend's Matt & Roxy's house to have dinner. We looked all over for a little pool for matt to swim in but were unable to find one. Instead we found one of those infatable punching bags but you could attach a waterhose to it and it will shoot water out of the top. Matt had a good time just running in the water and bouncing on it. He also kept trying to drink the water as it was shooting out.

I also decided to buy Matt a little pool that him and his cousins can swim in when they decide to come over. Even though it was small matt loved his new pool and was very apprecitive and even said "Thank You"

I'm Mowing Mommy

So yesterday since it was kinda cool and the sun wasn't blaring down, Theo decided it would be a good day to mow the yard. After he mowed about 3/4 of the front yard I decided I would come outside and try to rake up some of the excess grass otherwise the yard looks terrible. Although after raking up a little bit I decided it was too hot and I didn't really care what the yard looked like. Well of course Matt is outside and he always thinks he needs to be in the middle of the action. He decided that he wanted to help his daddy mow the yard.
Can you see how excited he is to be "helping". I can't wait till he is old enough the mow the yard by himself.....not that I have to mow the yard but it will still be nice. After "helping" his dad to finish mowing the yard Theo decided to trim some of our trees. Matt decided that he would have a fight with the branches that were laying on the ground. I am not sure who won but it sure looked like he had a great time.

I think he has a little bit of an Elvis lip.

Ice Cream

So yesterday Theo, Matt and I decided we would go into town to the Dairy Queen for ice cream. I prefer Braums but DQ is definately closer and with the price of gas closer is better. Anyways so I got a large ice cream cone and we got matt a little ice cream cone. We had been eating it for a while and matt's was getting a little messy since it was starting to melt. I like any mom took his ice cream and tried to eat the melting parts little did i know what i was in for. Matt looked up at me and said, " what are you doing eating my ice cream?" now he didn't exactly pronounce all the words exactly right but you could definately understand what he was saying. Theo and I couldn't help but laugh i think that is the longest sentence he has ever said. needless to say i gave him back the ice cream and resisted to urge to help him anymore.

4th of July Weekend

We started off our 4th of July weekend at my sister n law Helen's house. She had a pool party so we all went over there for good food and fun in the pool.

After leaving Helen's we decided to join my dad down at Richland Chamber's Lake. We stopped along the way and bought a few fireworks to light. When we got to the lake my dad had bought Matt a special pack of fireworks and Matt along with my Dad and step mom Mary lit them.....Matt just got to pick which one he wanted to see. he enjoyed the sparklers but was a little afraid of the loud sound of the fireworks. Although that didn't keep him from watching and trying to participate. Thanks for the fireworks DAD.

We stayed there until sunday. We fished a little bit and also went swimming in the pool.

Music

So yesterday we went over to Linda's to have dinner. My little 7 year old nephew bought himself an MP3 player with his birthday money and he decided that he would share his gift with Matt. They both sat on the couch with one ear piece in each of their ears. They were just moving their heads to the music.

Natural Wildlife Park

On Wednesday it was time to head back home. We decided to go by the Texas Natural Wildlife Park before going home. You just drive you car through the park and look at the animals. You can feed most of them but they did have some that were fenced in probably for our own safety. I am not sure I want to be driving aroudn with Rhino's loose however they did have longhorn that was pretty big. Matt really enjoyed feeding the rams and zebras although he made a big mess in my car with the animal pellets.

That is one big cow. Believe me we did not try and feed this one.

We were trying to feed zebra's on my side of the car and this one decided he would just stick his head in the car window.

SeaWorld - Day 2

On Tuesday we got up and went and had breakfast before heading back to Seaworld for the day.

We started our day by going to the Lost Lagoon waterpark. Matt had a blast playing in the water and it was a nice way to cool off a little bit before going to the park.

We then went to see the sea lions. They were being fed when we got there and this little guy was still hungry and kept crying for more food.

After watching the sea lion show we had a little bit of time before going to see the Shamu show again. We decided to go to the game area and play a few games. Matt enjoyed a game of Air Hockey with his dad. I think theo won but most of the goals Matt scored on himself.

After playing a few games it was time to return to see the Shamu show. This time we decided to sit in the back way out of the splashing area.

Shamu sure was Big. Matt really liked her though.

After watching Shamu we headed over to the other side of the park to Watch the Viva! show which had acrobats, dolphins and beluga whales.

We ended up our final day at Seaworld by watching Shamu Rocks. Matt really liked watching "shampu" and he even got a little shampu to take home with him. That's his shamu on the left.

So this last week Theo and I were on vacation. We decided that this year we would take matt down to Seaworld in San Antonio for a few days. We figured he would really like it since he loves the outdoors and he likes animals. Theo drove the whole way down there. Thankfully and Matt just hung out in the back seat. He was pretty quiet most of the time but he did get a little rowdy after a little while. The first thing we did when we went to Seaworld was go and see the Clydesdale Horses. Not really sure why I didn't take a picture but oh well. Then we went to see the dolphins. They were just swimming around in this little pool and you could touch and feed them if you wanted. We were just fine watching them swim around.

After seeing the dolphins and going to see the mantarays and sharks we decided to take matt to Shamu's Happy Harbor to ride some rides. Most of the rides we had to ride with him because he is still a little too short and they were very strict about height requirements.

Most of the rides were pretty empty so we didn't have to wait at all. Theo and Matt rode the ride below like three times in a row. Matt probably would have rode it all day if we would had let him.

We also went to see the Shamu Believe show. I decided that we would sit right behind the glass and only about 5 rows back. Needless to say we got completely drenched and Matt did not like the saltwater in his eyes.
