Memorial Day Weekend 2009

This past weekend was Memorial Day weekend and we celebrated by going to the lake with my dad. I took Friday off so I could have an extended holiday. I spent most of the day visiting with Roxy, who just gave birth to her first child. Theo and I went down to the lake on friday night. My brothers and their kids joined us down there on Saturday afternoon. We went out on our boat, which has been broken down for the past year or so. I don't know but it feels like forever. it was running pretty good and we went out fishing and we also went swimming. We also took the kids riding on the dune buggy my dad has. The kids all had a ton of fun. I had a good time even though despite my efforts I was unable to catch any fish :( Oh well hopefully next time. With summer coming up we will be spending tons of time at the lake and fishing.

It's a Girl!!!!

Last Thursday, May 21st @ 4:28 pm Roxy gave birth to a little girl. Isabella weighed 7.2 lbs and was 19 inches long. We all had our guesses as to the sex of the baby and we finally learned the answer. Mom and baby are doing well and are at home resting. My Matt is in love with Isabella already. He can't say her whole name but he loves his new little cousin Bella. They let him hold her on Friday when we went to visit and I didn't think he was ever going to give her up. Everytime I would ask if I could hold her he would tell me NO! It wasn't until she started crying that he finally decided to give her up. We are all super excited about the new addition to our extended family.

Introducing Mr. and Mrs.......

Arevalo. Yep my dad and step mom Mary officially got married on April 25, 2009. They have been together forever and it was nice to see them finally tie the knot. The had a very nice ceremony down at The Shores. The reception followed afterwards at the clubhouse at Pelican Isle. It was a small ceremony with mostly friends and family. We all had a great time and it turned out to be such a beautiful day.

Not Your Typical Easter 2009

So this Easter nobody was really prepared. We usually all get together to celebrate but this year everyone had conflicting schedules so we all ended up doing our own thing. Me, Theo and Matt ended up going down to the lake for the weekend. I had a babyshower to throw on Saturday so Theo and Matt went down on Friday night and I joined them on Saturday. My little brother was coming into town to visit so i really wanted to go and see him while he was here. On Sunday we woke up to find an Easter basket that the Easter bunny had left Matt. For some reason he went to sleep in his Batman outfit from Halloween so I am sure he will be a little confused whether it's Halloween or Easter. Oh well he just enjoys the candy either way.

We all decided to go eat lunch over at The Shores clubhouse. My dad and step mom bought property there and are building a house. They have a cool clubhouse with a swimming pool and jacuzzi there. Matt is allergic to eggs so decorated them is really not a whole lot of fun since he can't even eat them it was also really wet because it had rained the night before so we decided to skip on the traditional easter egg hunt. Instead Matt got to go swimming. He asked everyday if it is hot today so he can go swimming. He was so excited to go swimming and the water was nice and warm in the hot tub for him.

Matt posing for the camera after a long day of candy and swimming. His perfect way to celebrate.

My Best Friend's Baby Shower

So my best friend is having a baby. This is her first child and as her best friend I was eager to help throw her a baby shower. Along with her mom, aunt and cousin last weekend we threw Roxy a baby shower. Now this shower was a little difficult because they decided not to find out the sex of the baby. We all have our guesses but the official answer is still to be determined. Since she needed a neutral theme she decided to go with bumble bees. We played a few games and she got lots of presents. The cake was delicious and very cute. We can't wait to meet her new little one.

Day at Mama's House

So a couple of weeks ago we went out to my mom's house to visit. My mom lives out in east texas in the sticks. Her brother in law and sister in law live right behind them. They have quite a bit of land and they have animals on their property. One of these animals happened to be goats. Matt really likes all kinds of animals and so my mom brought the goats back to her fence for matt to feed. He had such a great time feeding the animals. He loves going to mama's house. Actually he loves going to all of his mama's houses they all have their specialities.
